Review Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE: almost premium experience

At this point in the championship, you must be very confused by the line 11, from Xiaomi, and its numerous variants. The Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE, for example, has design inspired by the top of the line Mi 11, but in fact it is an update of the Mi 11 Lite 5G, a premium intermediate. The device is officially sold in Brazil since October 2021 and bets on a balanced technical data sheet, to conquer the demanding consumer who can not acquire the top of the line of the family.

The 11 Lite 5G NE has everything you’d expect from a device of this category: a good Snapdragon 778G processor, an AMOLED display with 90 Hz rate, 5G connection and plenty of internal space. What doesn’t help much is the price of R$ 3,679, but it’s what we’ve been waiting for a model of this category today. We’ve tested this device in the last few days to tell you if it really is a good option.

Visually, the 11 Lite 5G NE (or New Edition) is identical to the Mi 11 Lite. Despite the appearance of flagship, you can feel that the company made cuts with the intention of making the product affordable. One thing they highlight — rightly so — is the 6.8 mm thickness, very beneficial for game and film consumption. The problem is that ultra-thin design doesn’t match decent autonomy, but I’ll talk better about the 4,250 mAh battery later.

The Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE is all built in plastic. At the rear it is well-finished and even comes to remember glass with a matte layer. On the sides it is simpler and you can notice a burr between the plastic and the screen glass when you spass your finger, but that’s just a detail. The absence of certification against water once again shows that Xiaomi had to save on construction.

Despite the cuts, I really liked this look. It is a beautiful device with beautiful colors and passes a top-of-the-line feel. During the days when I stayed with the device, I was able to easily carry it in my pocket and also managed to play demanding titles without complaining of discomfort after a few hours. Thin edges and weight really favor usability.

On the front, the good news is that Xiaomi chose not to save and brought good technologies. The 6.55-inch panel is AMOLED, with Full HD+ resolution, and Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support. For more fluid navigation, the brand offers 90 Hz refresh rate, as well as the Realme GT Master Edition, and 240 Hz touch sampling rate.

As my main phone, I used the 11 Lite 5G NE at home and on the street, and have nothing to complain about. The brightness of the screen is strong, the viewing under sunlight is good, the icons are sharp and the beautiful contrasts, which only the AMOLED could provide, also please. In short, the configuration will serve well more demanding users, who enjoy playing and watching content regularly on the mobile phone.

It has stereo speakers, so watching a movie or playing on the device is more pleasurable because the sound can engage the user. Despite this, you can’t ignore the stridency that takes care of the audio, especially at high volumes. Simple components and ultra-slim design may have contributed to this, and unfortunately there is no headphone input. However, they send in the box a USB-C adapter for P2 handset.
