Samsung may launch the Galaxy Ring smart ring in the month of July. According to South Korean newspaper ETNews, the manufacturer will announce the start of sales of the electronic at the second Galaxy Unpacked of 2024. At the event, Samsung is also expected to unveil the new versions of the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip foldables.
The idea of holding a Galaxy Unpacked in July comes as no surprise. Last year, Samsung held the event in the same month. The July choice for the second Galaxy Unpacked of 2024 may follow the idea of the previous year, in which the South Korean would have more months for the sale of the foldables before the launch of the new iPhones.
According to ETNews, mass production of the Galaxy Ring will begin in the second quarter of 2024. With at least three months to go until the smart ring is manufactured, Samsung would arrive in July with a good stock of the Galaxy Ring. The product will be a complement to biometrics and may replace Galaxy Watches in some cases.
In 2023, rumors about the Galaxy Ring indicated that it would launch alongside the Galaxy S24 lineup, which was unveiled in January. However, during the smartphone’s launch event, Samsung quickly presented an image of the smart ring, confirming that it was developing the device.
Galaxy Ring is match with Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip
The choice to feature the Galaxy Ring with the Z Fold and Z Flip foldables is a logical choice by Samsung. The second Galaxy Unpacked of the year became the event for foldable smartphones, which represent the manufacturer’s most innovative line. Even though there are already competitors, such as the Oura Ring, the Galaxy Ring is Samsung’s first new product in recent years — and Apple is also working on its smart ring.
