Samsung has been preparing the One UI 5 for its phones and tablets for a few months now. But while the final version does not come out, there are already some expectations for the release of Android 13: according to SamMobile this Friday (23), the Galaxy A53 will be one of the first phones of the brand to receive the new version of the operating system.
The new bets revolve around Samsung’s update calendar. As pointed out by the site, the new version of Android tends to be released later this year for the brand’s mobile phones. But the company plans to distribute the update to the Galaxy A53 later in 2023 – the date, however, is still a mystery.
If the information is confirmed, Samsung would make a different calendar compared to the Android 12 schedule. Last year, the company released the first One UI 4 for the Galaxy S21 line and folding phones. Intermediate models, on the other hand, were not updated until early 2022.
In Brazil, the owners of the Galaxy A52 4G received the update in early February. Then Samsung released the Android 12 to the Galaxy A52 5G and A52s 5G at the end of March. The Galaxy A32 and Galaxy A72 were updated in the following months.
Galaxy S22 may receive Android 13 soon
The Galaxy A53 wouldn’t be the only lucky one. In addition to the intermediate model, the specialized website points out that the models of the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 lines tend to receive the update later in 2023. The same is said to the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 4, the latest folding of the brand.
The bet puts more emphasis on Samsung’s bet to keep its products up to date at all times. To recap, in February, the company promised to release new versions of Android for four years to some models of mobile phones and tablets. The deadline for the distribution of security fixes has also increased to five years.
But it is important to note that each country has its own calendar. This means that even with the release of Android 13 abroad, Brazilians will have to wait a while for distribution in the national models. On the other hand, after the release of Android 12, the company did not take long to bring the One UI 4.
