WhatsApp has released the function of pinning important messages in a conversation. This feature is well known to Telegram users, which is now making its debut in the app led by Mark Zuckerberg.
The company explained to us that the tool makes it easier for people. It works in both one-on-one and group chats. All types of messages can be pinned – be it text, image, poll, video, or emoji, among others.
There is a difference compared to Telegram: pinned messages remain on the WhatsApp screen for a certain time, and not permanently. The default is 7 days, but users can also opt for 24 hours or 30 days.
According to the company, administrators of WhatsApp groups will be responsible for defining whether all members will be able to pin messages or if this will be a privilege of themselves – the admins.
As usual, the expectation is that the function of pinning WhatsApp messages will gradually reach all users of the platform. It applies to both Android and iPhone (iOS). It is necessary to have the system up to date.
The team behind the messenger has been releasing new features almost weekly. The previous novelty was the single-view audio, revealed on December 7. What else do they plan to present by the end of the year?
