The idea of ‘Mobile Photography Revolution’
Samsung the Korean electronics company has taken centre stage in risky innovations in the smartphone photo sensors. Recently there was a rumor that, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra could be increasing its megapixel count to a whole other level.
A Breathtaking Camera Sensor As Big As 324-Megapixel
Sleaker Sanju Choudhary posted on the S26 Ultimate Grid theory, which includes a 324-megapixel ISOCELL HR1 sensor for the main camera. If real this information would place the rumored camera at an almost double of what we saw in the Galaxy S24 Ultra with 200-megapixels.
One of the essential features around that is a great 50 MP Telephoto Lens and there are different rumors on this topic.
He also says that the phone’s 3x telephoto camera will be packed with a 50 MP sensor. This is working in contrast to Samsung latest model whereby it has a 10 MP 3x telephoto, the second 50 MP periscope telephoto. But other resources indicate that the S26 Ultra will have the same 200 MP ultra-wide sensor as the S25 Ultra.
To these claims, a newer leaker by the name of Jukanlosreve who has also proven to be accurate added, “Unfortunately, this is not true.” It seems that there is a disagreement on the specifics as to what the future smartphone should allow.
Race for Resolution is not the only thing.
Despite, 324-megapixel main camera may sound like a lot, it does not seam to lock Samsung in for top five best smartphone place. In fact, even with this year’s 200-megapixel camera on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, it lingers a tad behind Apple and Google, who both have a primary camera of only 48MP.
Of course, Samsung makes great phones with its Ultra line and it is worth stating that resolution is not the only factor that makes the photo good. One note here is that more focus can be made in advancing software as opposed to the hardware of cameras themselves.
