OpenAI enriches its service by incorporating a new version of voice mode
The company known for artificial intelligence, the OpenAI, has begun to discharge a new enhanced variant of the voice mode feature. Initially, it was provided only to the several-tier ChatGPT paying subscribers, which will be able to chat with the chatbot. Nonetheless, they intend to roll out this more extensive set of tools for all ChatGPT Plus members by this fall.

An improved conversation experience
In an announcement made on X the firm noted that this new voice mode version is actually an upgrade of its voice mode offering real time and natural interactions. It “lets you pause at any time and even identifies and reacts to your emotions”.

New efforts for increasing syntax and interaction in voice talk
Pursuing the AI user improvement, the possibility of using voice conversations was introduced in ChatGPT last September. A somewhat subsequent variant was publicly shown in the last May.

Gradual improvement
In this release ChatGPT-4o is using a single multimodal model for voice and not the three models used in their previous audio solution. This is to avoid delay in interactions with the chatbot since human brain can only handle a limited amount of data at a time.

Earlier in the year, OpenAI’s May announcement of a voice option that left many people thinking they are talking to Scarlett Johansson raised a public outcry. Although the original creators of the company claimed that the voice resembled Johansson’s performance it was pulled out and hence the advanced voice mode had to be rescheduled hence pushing the release date further.
