Google Contacts will allow you to use emojis as a profile picture

Google Contacts: Innovations in sight
On Google Contacts innovation is expected. This is because Google intends to include emojis to the new options for profile pictures.

More flexibility
Google has been doing all it can to make Google Contacts as personal as possible and, for instance, introduced ways of adding custom ringtones. In a recent APK report shared by Assemble Debug on Android Authority, there are more customizations planned for the future, and particularly related to the contact’s profile picture.

Designing Monogram and Using Emojis
At the moment, it is possible to set a contact’s photo by using device images, Google photos or illustrations. Two new options are to be introduced by Google, – this information was obtained from the mentioned report. The first let you make your own monograms for contacts. They will be able to pick any two letters for the contact card and pick a background colour and text colour. To do this, clients will only need to click on the circle of a contact’s image, by the way, there is even a button called “inspire me” which sets the monogram randomly.

However, there are limitations to the file size or at least there are since you can only use two letters which kind of makes it a bit limiting. But there is a way, the other of the two new options lets you set an emoji as your profile picture. To do this, just tap on the circle in the image and choose the emoji using the existing set of options. Unfortunately, you can’t alter the color of the emoji but you can choose whether it is dark or light and the color of the background.

Google: Constant improvement
Google is currently looking to change many of its apps, with a recent update to Google Photos making it easier to share images with a new tab in the menu. Meanwhile, it looks like Android 16 will arrive much sooner than expected, which marks a big change from Google’s usual release schedule.

This is certainly not the most important change, but it shows that Google is working to improve the overall usability of its features. Owners of recent Android phones have reason to look forward to in the coming months.
