Realme is not yet a popular brand in Brazil, but has been seeking its place in the sun. To rival Samsung, Motorola and Xiaomi, the Chinese yellow bet on premium intermediates that has been attracting attention this year 2021. The Realme 8 Pro, launched globally recently, is the company’s new investment for our market and will have the mission to compete with the Redmi Note 10 Pro, the Motorola Moto G60 and the Poco X3 Pro.

The successor of the Realme 7 Pro arrives equipped with new design, brings Snapdragon 720G processor, 8 RAM, four cameras with the main 108 megapixels and 4,500 mAh battery with fast charger. Does that make sense? I’ve tested The Realme 8 Pro in the last few weeks and count my impressions in this review.

The Realme 8 Pro was provided by Realme on loan and will be returned to the company after testing. For more information, visit tecnoblog.net/etica.

Let’s start by putting firewood on the fire. Realme is a company that likes to exalt your brand, so you will find the phrase “Dare to Leap” or something similar in various Chinese products. And it was no different with Realme 8 Pro, which received the message in bottle letters and divided opinions. At the global launch, I did not like this gigantic marketing on the handset, but, I managed to get used after a few days with the phone in hand.

Controversies aside, I must say that this device has an excellent footprint, this due to the thickness that has become 8.1 mm, against 8.7 mm of the past generation. Weight also contributes: now it’s 176 grams, versus 182 grams of the 7 Pro. That way, you have a phone with an ergonomic footprint and very comfortable to type, play and watch video streaming content.

Even so, it doesn’t take as much advantage when compared to other premium intermediates like Redmi Note 10 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy A72, models that offer water and dust protection. The finish of the 8 Pro is all plastic, both behind and on the sides, the material appears to be of good quality and does not scratch easily. The manufacturer sends a cap on the box that is already sufficient to protect the sides and ends of the display.

Speaking of sides, they house the on/off buttons and the chip and memory card drawer (supporting two nano-SIM cards and a microSD). At the bottom are the default input for headphones, speaker and a USB-C connection.
