In Brazil, SoundCore Icon has a suggested price of R$ 399, that is, more into account than JBL Flip 5 and Wonderboom 2, ultimate ears. But which one’s the best? Is the sound of Anker’s little box really good? That’s what we’re going to find out in this review.

Like Ultimate Ears, Anker designs many sturdy speakers that support water and even falls. And it would be no different with the SoundCore Icon, a model developed to be on the streets and that is ready to withstand the extremes. It has a pill format with materials very pleasant to the touch. The central part is braided fabric and the brand has added two pieces of plastic to fix the carrying handle which is even removable.

The sides of the Anker SoundCore Icon are rubberized and are home to five buttons that are very hard, most likely because of the reinforced structure. There are the on/off, play/pause, pairing and volume controls. On the side, a very strong cap protects the auxiliary inlet and a microUSB input to power the product battery. Unfortunately, just like the Soundcore Icon Mini, this larger version has no USB-C connection.

Still talking about resistance, the device is IP67 certified, which ensures that the housing is resistant to water and dust. In addition, the brand says that the gadget withstands shocks and can even float in the water, so we have excellent protections here that favor durability. I unfortunately couldn’t travel with SoundCore Icon, but I did a test at home to see if the box really floated. And isn’t she fulfilling the deal?
